Andrew McIntosh has been Principal Cellist of The Windsor Symphony Orchestra since 1997. During that time he has also been active as a freelance cellist in Ontario and southern Michigan, playing regularly with the Canadian Opera Company and Esprit Orchestras in Toronto, as well as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra in Detroit. Roman Kosarev, violist, enjoys his career as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. He the Principal Violist at the Windsor and Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestras, He actively performs with numerous orchestras in Michigan and Ontario, including, London, Kingston, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Midland, Battle Creek Symphonies, and Blue Lake Festival orchestra. Bruce J. G. Kotowich is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choirs at the University of Windsor where he directs the University of Windsor Chamber Choir and University Singers. In addition to directing these choral ensembles, he teaches conducting. Dr. Kotowich is also the Chorus Master for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Windsor Classic Chorale. As an active freelance violinist, Sarah Wiebe has played with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, London Symphonia, the Hamilton Philharmonic, the Victoria Symphony, and the Toronto Concert Orchestra. She served as concertmaster of the Windsor Community Orchestra and also played with the Ontario Festival Symphony Orchestra in their China tour. Learn more
The Coffee House Combo has spent the past five years firmly establishing itself in Windsor’s music scene, performing for weddings, galas, festivals, and private events. Their weekly Sunday night jam session at Phog Lounge – awarded ‘Best Live Music Venue in Canada’ in 2009 by CBC – has quickly grown to become one of the top open jams in the city, hosting local legends and young up-and-coming jazz musicians from both Windsor and Detroit. Greg Maev recently started the Master’s in History Program at the University of Windsor and has already developed a strong research proposal which will focus on Windsor and Detroit’s Vietnam War veterans and their role in shaping memory in the borderlands community.
